Let me also state that we're not reading the book here, we're watching a production which means a translation of the words into another media, in this case, animation. That translation is at the production staff's discretion and to insist literal, encyclopedic meanings from the text does not do justice to the vision of Bakshi and his crew. Also, in the Rankin-Bass adaptation of The Return of the King, the Nazgûl are robed skeletons with white hair. Skeletons are a latter stage of a corpse, no?

Usually i love Disney but i dont think they should have made an animaton on LORD OF THE RINGS - such a big movie, aragorn didn't look very dashing, sam looked retarded (not like a hero which he was), frodo looked like a baby who couldn't do anything etc (i could go on forever)- i didnt understand the ending well... yeah so i don't think Disney grasped the greatness and epicness of this movie...

Tolkien died 5 years before this movie came out, and this was not a Disney movie. So, if Tolkien did hate Disney (which I am not sure of), it wasn't anything to do with the production or making of this film. Thanks

Who cares if Aragorn looks like a Native American? It could actually work more or less, with him being a hunter and Ranger of the North spending weeks, perhaps months, outdoors at a time.

No he's right the book doesn't come with storyboarding. Some of the scenes are directed exactly the same in peter jackson's as here. And elijah wood and sean astin have the same accents as the voice actors here.

my god, they made Sam look like a stupid retard, and the nazgul walks like a schizophrenic monkey, plus the balrog is just a guy with a costume and it's not nearly as towering as Tolkien pictured it, plain ridiculous, no wonder why Tolkien hated Disney so much.
