Though I wouldn't describe them as "poor and innocent", and certainly wouldn't refer to most of them as "filmmakers", I'd have to agree with Bertonious's comment below. The digital revolution may have democratized filmmaking, but it has added a glut of absolute dreck to the mix. There's a reason films take years to make. These days, an idea is conceived on a Wednesday, filmed on a Thursday, edited on a Friday, and on Youtube by the weekend. Unfortunately, the result usually reflects that.
