yeah alot of this is not historically accurate, brown is not a gun toting killer as they display he did not kill anyone actually, he supervised the pottowatomie massacre, when he got to harper's ferry he never had a gun in his hand he really had a sword however, which he took from George Washington's grandson's house in harpers ferry which was the sword George Washington used... He never used the sword either....Overall Brown's whole purpose was to sacrifice himself for the cause of freedom

Terribly inaccurate, in that they have 6 or 7 civil war generals in the same year at West Point who actually graduated 36 years apart, but one of my favorite movies, as I love Ronald Reagan, Errol Flynn, and Olivia DeHavilland.

History and movies are two different things. Do not try to learn history from movies If you try to learn history from a movie you are going to disappointed and misinformed. History is fact and movies are entertainment made to produce income for the producers.Never confuse the two.Thanks for the uploads.

I am black. when I was a kid I liked this movie as I was a big fan of Errol Flynn. Now that I am grown and understand the propaganda of it I hate it and Flynn for making it.But it is a priime example how Hollywood has always utalized propaganda to line young and ignorant minds up pro or con on political and religious issues. Everytime our nation intends to invade nations Hollywood makes movies villifying those nations to invoke feelings of hatred or patriotism.911 was a major Hollywood producton

This movie has some very serious flaws which deviate from history. The slavers attacked Osowatamie, Jason Brown wasn't even there, and the other flaws already mentioned about the officers. The best parts are the comic relief (I barely noticed Alan Hale), Raymond Massey's "I'm John Brown of Kansas" (he also played Abraham Lincoln), and Errol Flynn's performance. "Bleeding Kansas" deserves an accurate description, although movies rarely cover what reading can.
