Rudy is a 1993 film directed by David Anspaugh. It is an account of the life of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger who harbored dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame despite significant obstacles. It was the first movie the Notre Dame administration allowed shot on campus since "Knute Rockne: All American" in 1940. In 2005 "Rudy" was named one of the best 25 sports movies of the previous 25 years in two polls by ESPN (#24 by a panel of sports experts, and #4 by espn.com users)

We watched this movie in adv. reading---Wow. Thats all I can say. If you haven't seen it, you need to. I may just be a 13 year old, but me and 3 other kids were almost to tears when we realized we have 5 years till college. We'll have to work hard, and dream for what we want. This is my favorite movie ever.

i watched this movie when i was about 8 and my parents said lets watch this and im like do we have to as soon as i saw this movie i knew i wanted to go to notre dame and i knew this was the best movie of all time

That was a nice made up story. I know people like him. They make up stuff and then repeat it over and over until they convince themselves that it's true. That aside, it was a great movie.

ok, he sounded like an A@@hole, but having gone through ND's recruit process with my daugther, sitting in the stadium during a game, comparing it to other schools Big 10, Pac 10 & SEC games---knowing all the tradition of ND and Indiana in general and being in tears just thinking about my personal walk-on success in the old Metro-7 conference. I get it, you wanna tell your story. So A-hole or not it's his story, he did the work and he can bask in the glory.

@mustwinder Relax there big fella'....I have no feelings whatsoever about Dan Devine...it was clearly a joke on your brilliant deduction about who "must" have been a "liar" that (you know, with Rudy being in trouble with the SEC over....ahem....fraud....)....apparantly it went whizzing straight over your head...ironically, I thought using the term "honorable" made for a friendlier rebuttal of your post...

my sister goes to notre dame and is a senior starter on the women's team i am so proud of her although i am crimson and blue through and through notre dame is awesome but now to the point she said that she was really cocky but i dont beleive it

I THINK MONTANTA WAS A FRESH THAT YEAR; BY I DO REMEMBER HE DIDN'T LIKE DEVINE AND HIS PLAYCALLING; SOMEONE CLOSE TO THE TEAM ONCE TOLD ME HE USED TO MAKE UP HIS OWN PLAYS WITH MCAFEE SINCE DEVINES PLAYS WERE SO PREDICTABLE; AND THEY WORKED
