Synopsis - Chandan - Sachin lives with his elder brother and father. One day while going across the river to get some medications for his father, he meets with Gunja - Sadhana Singh, and both fall in love with each other. Fate makes Gunja's sister, Roopa, get married to Chandan's brother. While giving birth, Roopa dies. The family decide that Chandan's brother should get married again, and they propose marriage to Gunja. Will Chandan sacrifice his love for his nephew, and brother? Will Gunja accept her brother-in-law as her husband?

This film is made from a novel, Khobar ki Sharth by Keshav Prasad Mishra. Apprently in the novel Gunja character marries omkar and not chandan and the story goes further from there. There is a rule that indian films should always end happily no matter in which indian language it is made so, this film also follows the same rule and Gunja marries Chandan :)

The original was made with such naturalness and elegance and Sachin's acting in particular is good. The support cast like, Kaka, Bhai and Sister-in-law are are also very good and Bhojpuri country side comedy dialogues are captured really well. Compared to this HAHK is intellectually and creatively bankrupt. Everything is so artificial.

I love Indian movies but 'nadiya ke paar' is unique 4 me cos it did not get unnecesarily complicated. I'm soooo glad Gunja spoke up b4 it got 2 late.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I HAVE SEEN. THE SIMPLE AND NATURAL ROMANTIC STORY IS SUPERB AS THE ACTING OF ALL THE ACTORS IS MARVELOUS. ONE OF THE BEST ANONG VERY FEW. THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS ARE DEVINE AND SO WELL IN THEIR ACTING. IT IS A PLEASURE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

One of the best movies... & my favorite.
This movie still looks so fresh. Unfortunately we don't have such kind of movies in theaters now
& offcourse Hum aapke hain koun is also best... Don't insult both of them by comparing with each other.
Both movies are great at their places..

Nadiya ke Paar and Hum Aap ke hain Kaun is from the same production. HAHK is remake of Nadiya Ke Paar in city culture. But still Nadiya ke Paar is much much better than HAHK. Hope Hindi Cinema can make some more great movies like Nadiya ke Paar.
