mynameisbackwards - 14.4.2011 3:31:42
what sort of simulator did you use for the video it looks awesome
fopneus - 12.4.2011 18:53:32
Yes, I am aware of that. How many rockets were "lost" in the process of returning a module to earth before they finally got the calculations right for the correct angle, speed and reentry burns? Space aviation has captured my interest for many many years but I didn't know about this simulation yet! I'm sure going to try and find it here in Holland.
enkopingsbo - 12.4.2011 18:46:01
You ware aware that they did not launch the first rocket and the first human in space at the same time right? They had Rockets in space aprox 4-5 years before he was launched
fopneus - 12.4.2011 18:40:51
How the heck did the Russians know what altitude to orbit, what speeds to maintain, under what angle and speed to reenter the atmosphere, how to fly the S-like patterns over the earth.... amazing technology for that period in time!
mrstevieabs - 12.4.2011 8:14:31
Hatch, chute???? hmmmmm
mustang6172 - 12.4.2011 6:30:15
I never realized how much more advanced the Vostok spacecraft were than the Mercury spacecraft.
TurkishWarrior80 - 12.4.2011 1:55:02

jurismanny - 6.4.2011 19:35:34
: Just what do you think you're doing, Yuri? This is highly irregular....
Spock23307 - 31.3.2011 1:08:17
I enjoyed that sim. I'd like to have a copy of the program for my own. Unfortunately the Cold War prevented Americans from knowing more about the Soviet space program. I learned a few things from this sim and reading the comments. Thank you for posting.
janwonet - 24.3.2011 21:03:03
it's a pity that the music is so loud one can hardly hear your comments
BeorhtFrognostic - 18.3.2011 3:41:10

MrSBChevy - 3.12.2010 22:42:11

EroticTofu - 14.11.2010 7:14:52
what are the songs you used for these two vids? this was cool! lol
toddlusk - 9.10.2010 23:55:14
Another thing to consider: it takes a special kind of person to go on a suicide mission. That's basically what both the Russians and the Americans were going on at this time when space rockets were no more than over-glorified ICBMs.
kirza94 - 22.8.2010 18:48:37
what was the hight of the lowest and highest parts of orbit ? e.g 300km -400km ???
Stevodoran - 6.7.2010 13:51:55
Did yuri after re-entry??
rocketshipstud1 - 21.6.2010 21:01:08
I was airborne in the army with 5 parachute jumps in 1986...anyone who says major yuri gagarin was just a spacechimp who never got to press any buttons forgets he skydives at the end! and that earned his paycheck! wild mindblowing ride thankyou! 5-stars!
eldrotto - 2.6.2010 20:10:25
