Ok going completely AU on this one, loved the movie and the girls together but wasn't crazy about how their canon story ended lol...
Nina's entire life has been ballet but she's always felt as if something inside her was missing. When she meets the new dancer Lily, she can't ignore the attraction between them but pressure from her controlling mother and fear of being judged leaves her scared of her feelings although she knows Lily does love her. She's left with the decision of continuing down the road others have created for her or to take a chance on real love, no matter what the consequences.

This movie is so NOT about a lesbian love story. I wish it was. I think this reviewers opinion is really skewed. The movie, in my opinion, was good. But there was by no means a love story behind this with Lily and Nina.
